The Oratorio Society’s 100-voice chorus, along with community singers from the morning workshop, and guest youth choir, Voces Laetae, will present a special program honoring our nation’s 250-year history in collaboration with VA250 — the state commission of America250, a nationwide bipartisan initiative to celebrate the values of our democracy.
Featuring American choral treasures from Irving Berlin, Randall Thompson, Rosephanye Powell, and Howard Hanson’s stirring Song of Democracy, this program will also raise funds and awareness for our community partner Emergency Food Network (previous partners have been the local chapters of Literacy Volunteers, Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Clubs, Loaves and Fishes, and Hospice of the Piedmont).
Adult Workshop Registration: $40 / $25 student + cost of music score(s) (Registration includes a ticket to the afternoon concert; Workshop participants will join The Oratorio Society chorus for the second half of the concert program)
Concert Tickets (General Admission): $20 / $10 student
