Adding meaningful music to your ceremony

Personalize your celebration with music that is special to you.

Over the last 24 years, I have had the honor of working with hundreds of couples in preparing the music that will create the perfect atmosphere for their wedding ceremonies, and being the cantor, flutist, or pianist who performed on that day.

I would love to meet with you and talk about how we can make the music at your wedding ceremony beautiful and unique!

Where do I begin?

Do you know you want music as a part of your ceremony, but aren't sure how to start planning? Don't worry, we'll go over all those details!

A few things to think about as we get the ball rolling:
* Are you planning to use sacred or secular music at the wedding ceremony?
* What can you tell us about the venue?  Will it be an indoor or outdoor wedding?
* Is there a piano or organ? Is there a sound system?
* Do you have additional music needs? (i.e. for cocktail hour or the reception?)
* Are you using a wedding planner that should be used as a point of contact?

I can help you figure out all your music-related details so you can rest assured that the ceremony music will go smoothly on your wedding day!

Maria, Bride

“I'm so grateful we had Amelia's beautiful voice as part of our wedding ceremony.  She worked seamlessly with the church organist and violinist to perform lovely renditions of the pieces we had selected.  Not only is she an excellent musician, she's organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.  On top of it all, her warm and caring spirit made it fun to work with her!

I highly recommend Amelia as a wedding musician - you'll enjoy working with her and be able to confidently rely on her musicianship and logistical planning.

Amanda, Bride

“Amelia was a joy to work with.

Her experience and knowledge of the liturgy made planning our wedding program a breeze, and her quick responses helped us get everything nailed down in a timely manner. She kept things running smoothly on the day of, even when the inevitable hiccups occurred.

10/10 recommend using Amelia!”

Ed, Groom

“Our experience with Amelia as our wedding music director could not have been better. I had an idea of what to expect after singing with her in college--then found her expertise and knowledge gained over the years far exceeded those expectations.

She is so organized and easy to work with, the planning took very little time (on my part) and felt more like visiting with a friend. To find someone with such professionalism, ability, and warm personality is refreshing especially in the complex world of wedding planning.”

Commonly Asked Questions
about Weddings

When should I book musicians and start planning the music?

As with booking your venue, wedding planner, photographer and other vendors, it is best to book musicians 6-12 months in advance. Those who wish to have a program or worship aid designed for the wedding will want to allow enough time to not only make music decisions, but also have the program custom-designed and printed at least a week before the wedding.

Do you play piano?

While I do play piano, I generally prefer to work with one of my talented pianist colleagues while I sing or play flute.  I am happy to learn more about your needs and music selections and if I might be able to double as a singer-pianist.
